General Information


Advanced Studies in EBP: Graduate, Pre & Post-Doctoral, Post Conference

Formal graduate coursework in evidence-based practice is offered in conjunction with the 2008 Summer Institute. Coursework is provided through UT Health Science Center at San Antonio. Significant portions of the coursework are completed as distance education. Attendance at the Institute is requisite and students pay course tuition. Course enrollment is limited and instructor permission for enrollment is required. Advanced studies are also offered as a post conference.

Future Institutes

In response to healthcare providers' need for greater EBP skills, we have designed a long range plan for coordinated continuing education programming via annual evidence-based practice institutes. Previous participants will enjoy building EBP skills through the new content presented each year. Lectureships for The 2008 Summer Institute

ACE logo Imogene M. King ACE Lectureship -- Jane Englebright, PhD, RN, Vice President for Quality at HCA, Inc., presenting Strong Care Processes; Strong Caregivers, receives the 2008 Imogene M. King ACE Lectureship. Dr. Englebright oversees numerous patient safety initiatives, including emergent care improvement, medication safety programs, and HCA's industry-leading Perinatal Safety Initiative. In memory of Dr. Imogene King, the King-ACE Lectureship is awarded to Dr. Englebright for the vital contributions she makes in health care quality and safety.

Methodist Healthcare System Lectureship -- Christi Zuber, RN MHA, presenting Fail Often to Succeed Sooner: Adventures in Innovation, receives the 2008 Methodist Healthcare System Lectureship. As Director of the Innovation Consultancy at Kaiser Permanente's Sidney R. Garfield Healthcare Innovation Center, Ms. Zuber 's endorsement of innovation has been credited with producing positive significant influence on healthcare safety. The 2008 Methodist Healthcare System Lectureship is awarded to Ms. Zuber in recognition of her success in strengthening the voice for quality and safety of both the healthcare provider and the healthcare receiver.
