Pre Conference: The Educators’ EBP Workshop® Teaching EBP and the Science of Teaching, co-sponsored by the National League for Nursing
In this workshop, participants will explore the basis for evidence-based practice in education and healthcare. Workshop activities will focus on explicating classroom and clinical teaching strategies that will prepare nursing workforce at the basic and advanced level for evidence-based quality improvement. As a case study, the body of education research related to web-based instruction will be explored to determine implications for instructional strategies and curriculum design. National leaders in the field will present: Harris Cooper, PhD; Diane J. Skiba, PhD, FAAN, FACMI; and Kathleen Stevens, RN, EdD, FAAN.

Pre Conference: Essential Elements of EBP an introduction for first-time attendees Presented by Affiliates of the Academic Center for Evidence-Based Practice. This session is highly recommended for those new to the Summer Institute. It equips the EBP novice with basics of EBP and prepares participants for an active role on an EBP team.

Discussions will focus on the form of evidence, where to locate it, how it is produced, interpreting and critically appraising it, and development of participants’ Action Plans.
